Dr. Cosmina (C.L.) Voinea is a Sustainability Scholar at the Open University of the Netherlands, Faculty of Management Sciences (Department of Strategic Management). She serves as Academic Director of the PhD Programme and is active as PhD co-promoter, supervisor, and Master Thesis supervisor within the field of Strategic Management and Sustainability.

Her expertise lies in sustainable management, sustainable entrepreneurship, business models, non-market institutions, and corporate strategy. Her research examines how organisations navigate the complex interplay between market and nonmarket environments to drive meaningful sustainability transitions.

Dr. Voinea has published widely in leading academic journals and is the author and editor of several books on nonmarket strategy, sustainable innovation, and corporate social responsibility in emerging economies.

Exploring the political, regulatory, and social arenas beyond traditional markets — and how firms strategically navigate institutional pressures, public affairs, and stakeholder demands to sustain legitimacy.

Corporate Social Responsibility

Analysing the state of CSR in both advanced and emerging economies, investigating the gap between CSR rhetoric and practice, and identifying the conditions that drive genuine accountability and impact.
